Witty Titty – June 29, 2012

It’s the end of another long, HOT week of work (except for you, Pacific Northwest. I have some choice words for you, later), so here’s something to hopefully send you into the weekend with a smile: this week’s #WittyTitty!

FIRST PITCH

So, the Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) on Thursday, and users immediately took to Twitter to express their violent outrage/fanboy appreciation:

This was, of course, after major media outlets (including, to absolutely no one’s surprise, Fox News and CNN) falsely reported that the ACA had been ruled unconstitutional, in their rush to be the first to report the news. Readers, we make you this promise: we will never sacrifice quality for expediency, so if we don’t post about a huge issue or news item right away, it’s because we don’t want to look like unprofessional asshats.

SECOND PITCH

Completely switching gears, there came news that Facebook, on Monday, subtly (read: completely not telling anyone at all) changed ALL users’ email addresses to blahblahemo@facebook.com, in some sort of weird zombie ritual trying to resurrect their failed email system, launched in 2010 and then promptly forgotten by everyone. In case you don’t particularly want to have all your emails forwarded through Facebook’s servers, here’s how to change it back.

THIRD PITCH

In sports hilarity, the Chicago Cubs continue to suck at pretty much every element of playing the game of baseball on a professional level, including wearing their freaking uniforms.

The “C” on the helmet is trying to run away from mediocrity, too. It’s okay, we understand.

FOURTH PITCH

Anne Curry, co-host of the Today Show on NBC (and personally, the only person whose journalistic ability I even respect on that show) was fired this week by the network, and replaced by Savannah Guthrie. Why is this newsworthy, you ask?

Because the one person Today anchor Matt Lauer wanted to be his co-host was the woman who he allegedly had an affair with.

(Not pictured: Matt Lauer’s mistress) But wouldn’t that be AWESOME?

LAST PITCH

Finally, here’s a YouTube video you might enjoy, recommended by Geek & Sundry‘s Felicia Day on her show The Flog.

It’s a band called Mucca Pazza, and it’s rock-and-roll marching band. That’s right, you heard me. Rock-and-roll marching band. You can find them on YouTube, as well as Spotify for their entire album.

Now, your meme for the week: Drunk Baby!

THE GOODS (this week, with a theme!)

So if my phone and your phone do it, we’ll have lots of baby phones, right?

Is that Play-Doh on her phone? (Image courtesy of http://www.smugglingtwins.com)

When Bedazzling goes horribly, horribly wrong.

Not even sure where to start, but she needs to see a doctor right away.

Did you guess this week’s photo theme? Let us know in the comments!
